What kinds of issues are suitable for psychotherapy?
I work with people with a range of issues and concerns, including:
  • Depression
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Identity issues
  • Blocks to creativity
  • Sexuality and gender
  • Low self-esteem
  • Midlife concerns and other life changes
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Childhood traumatic bereavement
There are a wide range of issues that bring people to psychotherapy, and it may not be something as clear as the above list. It may be that you feel you have lost your way in life and want to explore where you heading. Often the initial reason for coming to therapy recedes as other issues come to the fore. If you are unsure, please contact me to discuss whether I may be able to help.

Beginning therapy
If you are interested in attending for therapy, the first stage would be to arrange an initial consultation. The purpose of this consultation process (usually over a period of two sessions) would be for us to meet and to consider the best way forwards, taking into account my assessment of what may be most helpful to you, and any hopes or expectations you may have.

If we decided to work together, we would then consider frequency of sessions. This can be once, twice or three times per week. Having sessions more than once a week facilitates working at depth and can have considerable benefits. Sessions take place at the same time each week, and are 50 minutes long.

Please enquire for information on fees.
