What is psychotherapy? In psychotherapy, you can explore difficulties in your life, and process your feelings, thoughts and memories, in a quiet, confidential and boundaried space. Psychotherapy is also a collaborative processes where you work towards understanding what may be operating at a deeper, unconscious level that may be influencing current behaviour and feelings. The relationship with your therapist is a central aspect of the therapy, both because of the trust that is needed to explore potentially painful issues and to undertake an 'inner journey', and because it provides an opportunity to consider how you relate to others, and to explore repeating patterns in relationships. Sessions take place 1 - 3 times each week. This provides space and time to be able to explore issues at depth.
